Sending an Encrypted Email

Contents

A good reason to send an email as encrypted would be if sensitive personal information is being passed from one party to another. The nice thing about this encryption is it also allows the recipient to send an encrypted reply!

This video details the process from start to finish!

The Steps

  1. Start a new email from any version of Outlook (Outlook desktop app, Web app, Mobile app)
  2. Make sure that the subject line contains either of these words (Spelling must be exact otherwise the message will not encrypt – verify you spell your keyword correctly EVERY TIME):

    Encrypt

    Encryption

    Secure
  3. OR you can go to Options>Encrypt>Encryption (All Users)
  4. Type out your email
  5. Press send!
